You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:13 ESV
Autopilot controls the direction of a ship or plane by itself, but the term also refers to mindlessly completing a
task. We’re not engaged. We’re just doing the thing. Whatever the thing is.
I switch into this mode quite easily when navigating my calling. In leading a small group of women at our
church, I will continue each semester and serve from my own strength if I’m on autopilot. To combat this
tendency, I reevaluate regularly and check in with the Lord to make sure I’m supposed to sign up again. I only
want to continue with His blessing and in His strength.
As we pursue our passion, we must make sure we touch base regularly with God. Seek Him in every aspect
of our calling to make sure we haven’t veered off course.
Psalm 27:8 says, “You have said, ‘Seek my face.’ My heart says to you, ‘Your face, Lord, do I seek.’”
- In what ways can you seek God daily?
- What do you need for your meetings with God?
- Set a time and prepare a place to meet with Him each day, and commit to listening as He speaks to you.
