Prepare
And I said to the king, “If it pleases the king, let letters be given me . . . ”
Nehemiah 2:7 ESV
Passion burns strong now, and we are all prayed up. So what’s next? Preparation. I just love how Nehemiah
requests letters of safe passage and resources. But do you know what I love even more?
God placed him in a position to be able to ask.
God went ahead of Nehemiah, and He’ll go ahead of us.
I’m reminded of the closing statement in Hebrews, “May He equip you with all you need for doing His will”
(Hebrews 13:21 NLT). He not only calls, He also equips. When you consider this dream, can you see ways He
is already providing for you? Has He brought friends who will help you walk out this passion or be an
encouragement and prayer partner?
Start writing your letters of safe passage. It could be a text, email, phone call, or face-to- face visit. Ask the Lord
to highlight at least two people you can call on, and then reach out to them.
This is an exciting step in your journey, but it can also be intimidating. If anxious thoughts arise, squash them
with the Word of God. Do this by reminding yourself that you are “His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus
for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that (you) should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10). He goes
before you, sweet friend.
