Shine
So the wall was finished on the twenty-fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty-two days. And when all our enemies
heard of it, all the nations around us were afraid and fell greatly in their own esteem, for they perceived that this
work had been accomplished with the help of our God.
Nehemiah 6:15-16 ESV
In fifty-two days the walls of Jerusalem went from debris to defense. Finished—despite threats lobbed at
Nehemiah and his team of builder warriors. I just love the response of the opposition. God is the only reason it
was accomplished.
As our passion becomes reality, others will see the result produced, and it will shine. The praise we receive is
not for us though. This glory is a sparkling gem showing the world how He accomplishes great things
through His children.
I’m reminded everyday that the success I see in my life isn’t the result of me alone. I’ve seen what I can do on
my own and it’s not that impressive. No, it is all the result of what He can do through me. So when I receive
praise, I do so with grace. Then in my heart, I immediately take it to the feet of Jesus where it belongs.
Friend, He’s rubbing the dullness off your sparkle and about to hit you with a light. For one reason . . . to shine
for Him!
