There’s a vending machine at my workplace filled with all sorts of good things…like Cheetos, for instance. I usually bring instant oatmeal to work with me in case I get hungry, but I forgot one day this week, and there I was, staring at the Cheetos. I wish I could say I made a healthy choice and turned away on my own, but I didn’t have enough quarters, so my wallet made the (healthier) choice for me.
I love the
Choose Life devotional by Beth La Fleur. It was the inspiration for this page. I won’t give away too much of the devotion because I don’t want to take away the blessing you’ll receive by reading her words.
We have so many choices each day, and all of our choices add up over time. If I choose carrots instead of Cheetos (they’re both orange!) each time I want some, once might not matter, but over a lifetime? My choices matter, and I have a chance to choose life, and the blessings of walking with Jesus.
I want my life to be a living testimony to Jesus. It’s not perfect by any means, and I’m thankful for the grace of Christ. If I was perfect on my own, I’d brag about it. But how much better to brag in Christ and what he’s done in me.
I think the enemy likes to make us feel like we’re disqualified from living a fruitful life if we mess up along the way. He whispers lies to us, telling us not to speak into someone because we’re not perfect enough. I love how the bible is full of ordinary people being completely changed by the Lord. I’m so grateful for His grace!
Here’s a prayer for you: Lord, fill me with your Spirit, that I may walk with you all my life, step by step, choosing you – choosing life. Amen.
Here are a few design notes from the page. You may notice the pink haired girl is a little taller than normal. I printed her at a larger setting using Photoshop Elements. If you don’t have this program, there are other free ones available online, such as Pixlr. Your printer may even help with this. I didn’t change the actual design out of respect for the designer; I just made it larger. You can see the actual size on the previous page where I printed the girl at the default settings to illustrate the previous page. You can also see that I utilized the back of the girl to write out my journaling. This is a great way to keep your journaling private if you’d like. Thanks for hanging out here with me today, friends! <3, Cristin
